Member Survey Responses

Thank you to all of you who took part in our recent Member Survey - we had a very healthy number of responses, and some excellent points were raised.

In some instances we have responded directly to individuals, however there were a number of themes that arose several times, and we thought it would be a good idea to let you know what they were, and how we have responded to them.

We have grouped the themes under headings below:

Facilities and Membership
The Club has been based at Bedfont and Feltham Football Club since March 2019. There are limited facilities at the Club but there is a bar and a small function room (c.100 people). Details of the club are on our website (www.baclubs.com) but you can always talk to the membership team (membership@ba.com). Providing the hall is not booked, it can be booked and used by members for Clubs business (e.g., section activities and meetings) free of charge.  Football, Bridge, Athletics and Pipe Band are all based at Bedfont. Areas of the club need some attention and a refurbishment plan was being developed as we went into lockdown. This will be revitalised when we get back to some kind of normality.
 
It is our intent to launch Hobby Groups shortly which will enable our members to take part in new activities run and organised by the members. We'll be communicating this separately.

Communication
We try to communicate with our members as often as we can without becoming a nuisance.  It seems the newsletter is an efficient way of doing this.  Last year we held several member meetings at Bedfont, but unfortunately however much effort we put into it, the turnout is always poor.  This will not stop us and we will arrange more in the future.  Please always look at our website (www.baclubs.com) if you want up to date information about the club.

We partner with Lighthouse and Plane Saver.  A one-hour financial advice consultation is initially free for members and financial savings are being highlighted in the lockdown newsletters.  If you have any questions, please contact the membership team (membership@ba.com).

Health & Fitness
We are unable to open the Waterside and Cargo gyms until it is safe and financially viable to do so.  Julian and Lanre remain on furlough until we are more certain of the future. We are not charging membership fees while the gyms are closed and will keep the members informed of any changes. Additional classes and activities can be discussed with the team when they return to work.

Lottery
Thank you for your feedback and thank you for staying in the Lottery.  The more people there are, the bigger the prizes.  We draw the Lottery every month and as we are governed by the Gambling Commission, there are very strict rules about how we administer it.  All winners are contacted personally and it is confirmed by letter which the winner also has to sign.  We post the winners on the website every month (www.baclubs.com)

BA
We appreciate and understand the frustration about not being able to travel.  As BA starts to return to normality, there are likely to be some good special offers which will benefit Hotline members.  We hope you can take advantage of these very soon. Meantime, you can still take advantage of the savings available on the Altitude Plus/Perks at Work site, where it is quite easy to recover more than your subscription fee.
 
Unfortunately, we are not able to influence BA’s policy on car parking, although we do offer special deals on parking in the Exclusives section of Altitude Plus - worth checking out.
